Music in Motion began with a 13-year-old boy’s dream to provide music, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences for others. After idolizing a local radio personality, Larry Thompson Jr. discovered a love for being behind the microphone and creating moments that brought people together. When he received a karaoke machine as a gift, that dream quickly came to life. Alongside his sister, Casey, and cousin, Danny, Larry began hosting his own “radio shows” right from the living room. While Casey and Danny may not have shared the same passion for entertainment, they joined in to support Larry’s vision and helped spark the beginning of something special.

By the time Larry was 14, his dream had already started to grow. With the help of his father, he built his first DIY DJ table using a stereo system and a folding table. What began as a simple setup soon became the foundation for performing at gatherings for family and friends. Those early events gave Larry the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience the joy of helping people celebrate through music.

A couple of years later, Larry DJed his first wedding, and it became clear that this was more than just a hobby. It was a calling. Determined to keep following his dream, Larry recognized the opportunities ahead and worked as many as three jobs at a time to fund equipment purchases and continue building his business. His dedication, work ethic, and passion helped turn a childhood dream into a growing entertainment company.

In 2012, Larry’s now wife, Jennifer, joined the business, becoming an important part of the Music in Motion journey. Together, Larry and Jennifer continued to grow the company while building a family of their own. In 2014, they welcomed their first son, Caige, and in 2024, their second son, Callen, was born. Both boys have already been introduced to the business, making Music in Motion not only a company built on passion, but also a family legacy in the making.

Today, Music in Motion is more than just music. We are proud to offer trivia, music bingo, classic bingo, and full-service DJ and Emcee services for a wide variety of events, including quinceañeras, sweet sixteens, mitzvahs, weddings, corporate functions, private parties, community events, and much more.

At Music in Motion, every event is an opportunity to create memories, bring people together, and celebrate life’s most meaningful moments. What started in a living room with a karaoke machine has grown into a passion-driven entertainment experience built on energy, connection, family, and a love for making every celebration unforgettable.
